Our Mission

Compassion, without condition

Narayani exists to relieve suffering and to uplift the poor, the sick, and the needy — honoring every faith, and asking nothing in return.

Narayani is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, organized exclusively for religious and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are an independent organization — not a fund for any one family, cause, or congregation — devoted simply to doing good wherever it is needed.

The purposes of the Corporation include:

Relieving poverty and supporting the welfare of the poor, sick, and needy — both within the United States and internationally.

Supporting religious institutions, monastic orders, and charitable organizations of any faith tradition.

Advancing cultural, spiritual, and humanitarian understanding across diverse traditions.

Making grants and distributions to other organizations and individuals for charitable purposes.

How We Work

Independent, careful stewardship

Narayani helps in two ways: by giving directly to people in need, and by making grants to trusted charitable and religious organizations that share our purpose.

Every contribution we receive becomes the full property of the organization, applied at the independent discretion of our board toward our charitable purposes. We act for no donor as an agent or conduit; we simply steward what is entrusted to us, and direct it toward relieving need.

We are governed by a volunteer board of directors who serve without compensation. No part of our earnings benefits any private individual, and we take no part in political campaigns.
